報告摘要:Paralleling the exponentially increasing number of chemicals that may potentially contaminate the environment, microorganisms have developed intriguing strategies to degrade and even feed on these emerging micropollutants. Among catabolic mechanisms discovered in the past years, ipso-substitution is certainly a key reaction for the initial attack of persistent xenobiotics. The talk by P Corvini will depict the major findings of his group that led to the identification of both type II and type I ipso-substitution as the critical step in the degradation of endocrine disrupting chemicals such as alkylphenols and and of sulfonamide antibiotics before they enter the central metabolism of Sphingomonas sp. Strain TTNP3 and Microbacterium sp. Strain BR1, respectively.
報告人簡介🪿:Prof. Philippe Corvini is a Professor of Environmental Biotechnology and Head of the Institute for Ecopreneurship, School of Life Sciences, University of Applied Sciences Northwestern Switzerland (FHNW, Muttenz). He got his PhD as employee of the French Ministry of Education Research and Technologies (MENRT) and as an Adjunct Professor at Nanjing University and as a co-founder and co-owner of INOFEA AG (innovative nanomaterials for environmental applications). His current research of interest includes Nanoparticles-modified membranes for the selective removal of Nanosized particles and implications of understanding biomineralization for the environmental chemistry of selenium.
